Homophobia?
In advance, sorry for the probable typos and strange abbreviations...
Read a door-post on 1of the Prof's cabin.. It displayed a picture of a gay Vietnam war veteran's grave. it said..
"They gave me a medal for killing 10 men... and... discharge for loveing one."
I myself am a homophobic. Well.. not exactly a homo"phobic" but I can't digest the concept of homosexuality ... but these lines were too touching for me. Before coming to US, this wasn't even a concern. We hardly used to talk about it in India. But things are different over here. You see lotsa homosexual people around. Sometimes u can make out the difference, sometime you can't. Used to work with a very nice guy. Used to get along nicely with a colleague. After few months I came to know that they r not str8. Was kinda shocked but that made me think why we (most Indians) are homophobic? Just as we r not used to it? They are friendly people just like other str8 guys. Str8 ppl do turn them off - so no need to worry abt that either. Just need to change our attitude towards them I guess!
This is what one half of my mind says.. the other 1 just can't understand the concept or reasoning behind being a homosexual person. My general knowledge is not very good, but I don't know any other species having homosexuality in them. Maybe there are exceptions, but I guess they will be exceptions and not in so much of amount! Whatever.. suddenely my enthou of writing about this topic is gone. so better stop here.

i would repect them but i wouldnt understand why they chosse that....on same line...Peace!
Good point that no other species have a gay concept. I think its same reason why we are different from other species. the differentiator is intelligence. The mind construed by a world it creates around it get bored of it eventually. The collective form of it , i call it the social intelligence, is exponentially bored.
What can we do ? the reflexive reaction is to rebel again the "machine". Being gay is socially unacceptable to a certain degree. The mind, is satisfied. But really, if the mind were busy at thinking how to find dinner, or how to multiply your own self, I gues it be too occupied to get bored or to rebel.
